Director of Communications
Jake Link, Director of Communications at Educational Alliance (EA), has been with the agency since 2014. He orchestrated EA's "We the People" Campaign to ease fear and tension among immigrant populations in the Lower East Side and East Village following the 2016 election, as well as a successful Teen Center campaign to raise funds after New York City cut funding for teen programs. In his time at the agency, Jake has worked to elevate EA's messaging and communications strategy, gain more media exposure for EA's programs, and tell the stories of the clients who inspire our work every day. He maintains a commitment to serving the mission of Educational Alliance and telling our community members' stories with dignity, respect, and an admiration for their resilience.
Jake entered the nonprofit world after spending several years working in the television industry. While at NBCUniversal, he assisted in the production and development of shows and films across the company's portfolio of networks. Most notably, he helped to launch the "Sharknado" franchise, which became such a huge internet sensation that it briefly shut down twitter. With MSNBC, he was a National Media Coordinator for the 2012 Presidential Debates at his alma mater, Hofstra University. He is also the writer, producer, and director of the BarkPost original web series "The Pawffice", which became one of the company's first big hits in the video space. He considers it an honor to be able to use his creative sensibility and strategic insight to spread the news about Educational Alliance and the amazing things happening in downtown Manhattan. He resides in Queens with his wife Sam and their rescue dog, Charlie.
