One-time Volunteer Opportunities & Internships
Title: Fundraising Intern 2013 - 2014
Job Description: Come and train with a development team with years of experience in fundraising! Interns work side by side with development staff in our office, learning about nonprofit fundraising, and communications in a multi-program social service organization in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Projects are diverse and engaging, allowing you to gain experience in a range of operations vital to non-profit agencies, letter writing, social media, data base management, and website development.
We strive to make this experience relevant to you and meaningful to your career path. If you have an area of specific interest you, we are happy to work with you to try to incorporate your interests into your experience here. Interns are also encouraged to meet and talk with employees in different fields and stages of their career path within the Educational Alliance. In addition, we make sure that you will have the opportunity to volunteer in one or more of our 38 programs, to ensure that you gain a deeper understanding of the organization by interacting directly with our clients.
Qualifications/Terms: We are seeking someone who is available to contribute a minimum of six hours/week for at least one semester. We are looking for someone who can arrange with their college to get credit since this is an unpaid internship.
How to Apply: Tell us why you want to join the team! Please email your cover letter, resume, and a writing sample (as “.doc” or “.pdf” files) with your name and “Fundraising Internship 2013” in the subject line to: email@example.com
