Workshop: Knitting the Regal Cuff
To the untrained eye, this workshop is about making a beautiful, wearable bracelet, but its hidden agenda is to gain comfort with metal wire as knitting material. We work from the Regal Cuff Kit, which includes knitting wire, freshwater pearls, clasp, and instructions. The first session covers casting on, knitting, and purling in wire, plus knitting with beads. Students are then ready to make a swatch for gauge and begin their bracelets. In the second session we complete the knitting and learn finishing techniques. Students should have basic knitting skills: knitting, purling, casting on, and binding off. Students must bring: size 2 Bamboo double pointed needles (6 or 7"), small sharp scissors, size 1.75mm/US4 crochet hook. Regal Cuff Kit included ($75 value)
