FOR AGES 10 - 14


Cartooning:
Develop drawing skills while learning the techniques of cartooning and manga style cartooning. Create your own humorous or action-packed characters and stories in pencil. Then discover the secrets of inking that give drawings added dimension. 
Saturdays, 10am-12pm - 10 sessions

Pottery: Explore how to create in three dimensions. Students learn to make cups, bowls or sculpture in clay. Discover a variety of techniques to decorate and glaze your handmade creations.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 Sundays, 11am-1pm - 10 sessions

Painting: Young Artists will discover the techniques of masters as they learn how to paint using real oil paints. In a step-by-step method, students learn the basics from mixing colors and organizing a palette to painting from observation. 
Sundays, 11am-1pm - 10 sessions

Photography: Students are introduced to the art of black and white photography by using manual cameras to shoot black and white photographs. Students learn to process film and develop and print their own photos in the darkroom.
Saturdays, 10am-12pm - 10 sessions

Photoshop / Digital Art: Learn Photoshop! This course introduces you to Photoshop and the world of digital art. Students learn to create, edit, import, plan and modify images that can be used for a variety of applications. Space is limited to 5 students.
Saturdays, 10am-12pm - 10 sessions 

Portfolio Development Class: Are you thinking about applying to an arts high school, college or university to study art? Then this class is for you! In this course we will draw a still life, portraits, imagination drawings and other artwork. We will help you select your portfolio and create a professional presentation of your artwork.
Wednesdays, 4-6pm - 10 sessions

Sculpture: Students discover how to use malleable clay by exploring innovative ways to construct sculpture. In this course students develop their artistic skills by producing a piece of artwork from an original concept. The completed artwork will be fired at the end of the semester.                                                               
Saturdays, 10am-12pm - 10 sessions


Graffiti Painting: Graffiti is a popular art style and can be seen in many museums, galleries and all over town.  Learn the art of graffiti with our cool graffiti lessons by painting your own letters, symbols, styles and create amazing new designs.  Learn new graffiti techniques while painting on canvas and other materials.  This class is held at a cool artist's hub and gallery: "Culture Fix" at 9 Clinton Street.  Don't miss out on a great New York experience.
Dates: November 7th, 14th, 21st and December 5th.
Sundays, 2-4pm - $40 for 4 sessions

 

FOR AGES 15 - 19

Wednesdays, 4-6pm - 10 sessions

Pottery: Explore the creative possibility of working with clay. Learn coil and slab techniques to make sculpture or cups, bowls and other objects. Photography: Traditional black and white film photography is the basis of all photography. Students will learn how to use a camera and the tools of photography, including aperture and shutter speed. Then discover the creative process of developing and printing their photos in the darkroom.                                                                                 
Saturdays, 12:15-2:15pm - 10 sessions
