Each of our clubhouses has created a decorative blue door to celebrate BGCA Week (March 22-28). The Blue Door reinforces the BGCA tagline, Great Futures Start Here, by symbolically opening the Club door and welcoming in young people. These doors will be submitted to the national Blue Door Contest, but we'd also like to involve you, our local community in voting on your favorite Blue Door.

We're starting 2015 in an extraordinary way. Today, The New York Times featured a story about Latisha Hopewell, an inspiring young mother who participates in the Educational Alliance College Access and Success program.
Latisha understands the importance of leading her two young girls by example, "How can I tell her, 'You have to go to college; you have to do this,' when I'm not doing it and I'm able?", Latisha told the Times.
Part of the Nickelodeon HALO Awards that aired on December 1st was filmed in the Manny Cantor Center basketball court. Nickelodeon came and transformed the space into an art project for the show. Our kids had the opportunity to build art installations alongside some of Nickelodeon’s biggest stars. See some photos from the broadcast below:
LABA: A Laboratory for Jewish Culture, a program of the 14th Street Y, has been named one of North America’s top innovative Jewish organizations in the tenth annual Slingshot Guide. The Guide has become a go-to resource for volunteers, activists and donors looking for new opportunities and projects that, through their innovative nature, will ensure the Jewish community remains relevant and thriving.
Kids at Educational Alliance Boys & Girls Clubhouses will kick-off the new school year and celebrate their great future with a special meal delivery from Olive Garden. The two Manhattan Olive Gardens will deliver pasta, salad and bread sticks
Ten (10) students will be awarded scholarships as part of their graduation from the Educational Alliance’s Joseph B. Rosenblatt College Prep Program (College Prep) this Tuesday. The sponsorships were funded by a grant from the Voya Foundation, the charitable giving arm of Voya Financial (formerly ING U.S.), a premier retirement, investment and insurance company. A College Prep Graduation ceremony will be held Tuesday, June 17, from 6-8PM at the Manny Cantor Center at 197 East Broadway in New York City.Read more
