A Letter from The Director

Welcome to a new term with The Educational Alliance Art School. Each quarter I am delighted to see new faces as well as returning students. Together with the dedicated faculty of artists, we try to create a supportive environment for artists of all levels to explore, create and grow.

I am happy to report that The Art School is not increasing tuition fees this term. We continue to work hard to maintain an affordable high quality community art center. In these uncertain economic times you may be considering ways to trim expenses. Enrollment in an art class is a valuable investment that can provide weekly rewards and a lifetime of pleasure. The art studio may be the one place, for a few hours every week, to enrich and renew your spirit and mind. Life in New York can be very stressful; in the Art School we create a place for you to leave behind your work and daily life to discover and explore your creative side.

Many of our students took an art class in high school or college and want to put some creativity back in their lives. in a welcoming community. Experienced artists often come to refresh their skills or learn a new medium. Many individuals discover their art-selves here and creating art become an integral part of their life.

The Art School is a lively community art center attracting people from all over the city to its grand studios, excellent teachers and friendly environment. Our aim is to teach the techniques of drawing, painting, photography and sculpture. Along with teaching skills, the artist / instructors can help you develop a personal style.

I look forward to seeing you in the studios,
Walter O’Neill, Director
